Clara Wong
Clara joined the Heffel team in 2013 after graduating from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Anthropology. During her time at university, she was the inaugural recipient of the Patsy and David Heffel Award in Art History and worked in gallery settings, including the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery and the Rennie Collection at Wing Sang.
As the Director of Information Management, Clara works closely with Heffel’s specialists across the country and technology department to develop new auction technology and oversee a number of ongoing special projects. In 2020, she led the launch of Heffel’s Digital Saleroom, the firm’s online bidding platform that allows bidders to participate in the live auction remotely, seamlessly marrying the live and online auction experiences. She also directed the debut of Heffel’s new website in 2020 and the Heffel Numismatics website in 2023. Clara also works on special corporate and consignor partnerships at Heffel, including the collaboration with the Royal Canadian Mint.
Clara is also an essential member of the production team for Heffel’s bi-annual live auction catalogues of Post-War & Contemporary Art and Canadian, Impressionist & Modern Art. In addition, she has produced catalogues for important selling exhibitions for artists such as Barry Ace, Joe Fafard, Alex Colville, and many others. Clara enjoys sharing her passion for art through the exceptional works presented by Heffel.
