Gallery History

Art collector Kenneth G. Heffel opened the doors to Heffel Gallery Limited in 1978 in Vancouver, BC, with the idea to share his expertise and enthusiasm for Canadian contemporary and historical art with the public.

The gallery, which is still housed in its original brick and granite heritage location along Vancouver's Gallery Row, is now run by second generation fine art dealers Robert and David Heffel.

Building upon the legacy established by their father, Robert and David have developed the Heffel name into the foremost resource for fine art in the Pacific Northwest.

Heffel's is now Canada's national auction house with their purchase of a buildings at 13 Hazelton Avenue in Toronto and 1840 Rue Sherbrooke Ouest in Montreal. With these acquisitions, Heffel's has become the only fine art auction house to span the country with offices in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.
