A large and impressive medal struck by John Pinches of London circa 1967, numbered 024 of 250. An exceedingly rare opportunity to acquire a 22k gold version of Benedetto Pistrucci’s masterpiece; the obverse depicting busts of the four Allied Sovereigns, within a border of allegorical mythological figures, the reverse depicting two equestrian figures with the winged Victory between them.
Engraved “Waterloo, June 18, 1815” along the edge, and “No 2”, along with full hallmarks. Offered with original fitted box and COA, the cataloguer notes only one other specimen of this series having been offered in recent years.
