Bruce Parsons studied at the Ontario College of Art with Jock Macdonald in 1961 and at the University of Saskatchewan’s Emma Lake Artists’ Workshops, with Kenneth Noland in 1963 and Jules Olitski in 1964. He was part of the conceptual art practice at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design from the early to mid 1970s. From the late 1970s to late 2000, he was director of the graduate MFA program and an associate professor in the Fine Arts Department at York University, in Toronto. His work is in the collections of the Saskatchewan Arts Board, Art Gallery of Ontario, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, MoMA, Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, Canada Council Art Bank, Nova Scotia Art Bank, and National Gallery of Canada.
