The full dimensions of the ivory figure are 35 x 6 x 4.5 inches.

The dimensions of the wood stand are 19 x 16 x 16 inches.

This massive tusk-form carving depicts a warrior with a fierce expression and wearing a helmet with a monster mask and two feathered tassels, the skirt with a design of heavenly houses amidst scrolling clouds, and the shoulders protected by a set of chain pauldrons, his right hand holding onto a long sword with a chain-linked tassel. The work is mounted on a large, early 20th Century Japanese wood stand with a rotating top, and ornately carved with chrysanthemums and clouds, and the waist is inlayed with six bone panels with incised monkeys.
