Raised on a splayed square base to a waisted body with vertical ribs, the neck with a band of taotie masks and birds and flanked by two mythical beast knobs connected to a wide U-shaped handle, the cover of square form with a frieze of mandarin ducks, all rising a a flat top with geometric ridges and a rectangular finial. The underside of the cover with a six-character Bronze Age style inscription.
