The inscription on the reverse reads:

"Painted on the spot - The road from the village of Perkinsfield turns right and a mile Westward the Georgian Bay opens before your eyes, a few yards to the right of this road. The scene depicted hereon was painted on a brilliant Saturday in June of 1931. The sparkling blue waters of the bay seen through the trees was the "raison d'être."
