Naomi Jackson Groves, A.Y.'s Canada, 1968, page 2, same subject reproduced page 3


Naomi Jackson Groves wrote, "Jackson was probably the first professional Canadian artist to reach the far North. He travelled twice to the eastern Arctic on the government patrol ship, the rugged little 2,700-ton Beothic." The first trip was in 1927, and on the second trip in 1930, when this drawing was produced, Jackson was accompanied by Lawren Harris.
