Acquired directly from the Artist by Mary MacLean, 1965
By descent to the present Private Collection, British Columbia
This work was acquired directly from the artist by his friend Mary MacLean. Joe Plaskett moved to Paris in 1960 and he and MacLean exchanged written correspondence throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Attached on verso of this lot is a copy of a letter written from Plaskett to MacLean and her sister, which mentions a "scrumptous meal" which was "perfection in taste and equilibrium" and "a delightful souvenir" of one of Plaskett's return visits to New Westminster.
