In the Grand Hall of the Canadian Museum of Civilization is a dome rising seven stories high. Nineteen metres in diameter, the dome is adorned with Alex Janvier's striking abstract painting Morning Star, completed in 1993. As the inscription label on verso indicates, this work is the first concept study for Morning Star.
