In 1965, in a unique cooperative sponsorship, the Art Gallery of Toronto, Art Publications, Dorothy Cameron Gallery, The Isaacs Gallery Ltd., David Mirvish Gallery, Gallery Moos and Jerrold Morris Gallery combined their efforts to produce what is described on the introductory page of the portfolio as “the first attempt to put together a collection of graphics by some of the leading artists of what might now be called ‘The School of Toronto.’ ”
This serigraph was John Meredith’s contribution to the Toronto 20 print portfolio, which included works by his contemporaries: Dennis Burton, Jack Bush, Graham Coughtry, Greg Curnoe, Sorel Etrog, Gerald Gladstone, Richard Gorman, Robert Hedrick, William Kurelek, Les Levine, Robert Markle, Kazuo Nakamura, Gordon Rayner, William Ronald, Michael Snow, Mashel Teitelbaum, Tony Urquhart and Joyce Wieland.
