On the verso of the work is a handwritten note by Frank Hans (Franz) Johnston: " On Cameron Bay, Great Bear Lake, is the last Post Office on the way to Coppermine (on Coronation Gulf). All the mail that is flown north 1200 miles from Edmonton for the Eldorado Radium mine goes through this little log building, then is sent by dog sled to those anxiously awaiting news from the outside world. The air service guarantees ten deliveries a year."
