Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun attended the Emily Carr College of Art and Design (now Emily Carr University of Art and Design) beginning in 1979, graduating in 1983 with an honours degree in painting. In 2019 the University bestowed him with an honorary doctorate for his contributions to the art community.
