PROVENANCE
Acquired by a Canadian Presbyterian Missionary Family living in Weihai, Shandong, China, circa 1908 to 1924
by descent to the present Private collection, British Columbia


The brown silk ground robe featuring nine large dragons (hidden) on the front side, and eight on the reverse, all chasing flaming pearls on a multicoloured sky with Buddhist emblems, longevity bats, lingzhi fungus shaped clouds, all over a band of crashing waves with coral springs and large lotus blooms.
