Tim Pitsiulak was a hunter as well as an artist, and his large-scale works frequently display his keen observation of northern sights encapsulated in Inuit folkloric tales. This parka-clad hunter being captured – or "adopted" – by a group of little people, is similar to the fable of Gulliver in Gulliver's Travels.
