PROVENANCE
A gift from the Artist to Wu Tingjie (Ng Ting Chit) (1921-1974), Hong Kong
By descent to the present Private Collection, Vancouver

Young Lady from Yunnan, lot 101, and Young Boy, lot 102, by Huang Yongyu in this sale were acquired directly from the artist by Wu Tingjie (Ng Ting Chit). Tingjie, father of the consignor, was close friends with Yongyu. Yongyu introduced the consignor's parents to one another, around 1950 in Hong Kong. Both works have remained in the family's collection until their consignment to Heffel.

The side annotation dedicates the work to Wu Tingjie (Ng Ting Chit).
