PROVENANCE
Private Collection, Calgary

In the early 1960's, before Baker Lake had an artist program, Oonark was living at Kazan River with her family - just south of the settlement of Baker Lake. Her drawings were brought to Cape Dorset through the efforts of a Mrs. Sam Dodd, whose husband was the Baker Lake area administrator. Her drawings were turned into prints there and issued as part of the 1960 and 1961 Cape Dorset Prints Collections. At this time, she went by the name "Una", which was given to her by her paternal grandfather.

Print Maker: Eliyah Pootoogook (b. 1943)
