Comments on Condition
Good. Please note that this set of armour is 300 to 400 years old and does have some overall wear. Many sections of the armour are from different sets which is reflected in the cataloguing and auction estimate. However, the suit of armour is stable, and able to be displayed properly with little complications. The helmet is in good condition, and the wood crest is a later replacement. The neck guard has some slight age cracks to the lacquer and minor fraying to the green weave. The shoulder pads have some signs of wear. The chest and back protector have some cracks and losses to the lacquer, and some loose parts at the base, minor losses to the green woven sections. The banner pole is not present. The woven green threads of the waist guards have some fraying. The leather on the gauntlets have been worn, the sleeves have some areas of losses. The box is not original and the lacquer has been worn, especially the edges and surface.
