This work is edition 13/15 + 5 APs.

Jeff Wall’s work combines the aesthetics of cinema, photography, and painting to produce highly complex images that he refers to as “cinematography,” as well as “near documentary” images—documentary-style photographs created in collaboration with his subjects. His practice includes images that range from classical reportage to elaborately staged scenes produced on a grand scale typically associated with history painting.

Wall has had major solo presentations of his work at significant institutions internationally, including the Art Institute of Chicago; Kunsthaus Bregenz; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Pérez Art Museum, Miami; and the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; amongst others. His work is held in museum collections internationally and he has received numerous awards including the Audain Prize for Lifetime Achievement in the Visual Arts, Hasselblad Foundation International Award in Photography, Roswitha Haftmann Prize, and The Paul de Hueck and Norman Walford Career Achievement Award. Wall lives and works in Vancouver.
