Provenance:
Acquired directly from the Artist by the present Private Collection, British Columbia

Ted Harrison painted A Land Called Yukon soon after his wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and required treatment in Victoria, far to the south. Ted and Nikki loved the Yukon and each other, and Harrison painted it as a tribute to the land that they had shared, and as he told the consignor, a lament to what they were leaving. The two small people and the dog are Ted, Nikki and their pet (all intentionally small in the vast magnitude of the Yukon).

This painting appears in Land of the Chartreuse Moose, a film about Harrison, and it was used by the Bob White Foundation for a promotion poster for Painters at Painterís in 2005, when Harrison was the featured artist.
