What is an Online Auction?
Heffel.com's Online Auction is our monthly auction sale conducted over the Internet.
When does the Online Auction start and when does it close?
We start our monthly online auctions on the first Thursday of each month and begin to close the sale on the last Saturday of the month. Please note that we typically close our December sale earlier, before the Season Holidays. On both our home page and online pages we post a declining clock that displays the time remaining in the sale, subject to overtime.
What is the automatic 3 minute bidding extension?
There is an automatic 3 minute bidding extension if a bid is submitted on any lot within the last 3 minutes on the bidding clock. These time extensions will continue to occur until there is a 3 minute period during which no bidding takes place on any lot. Typically, overtime will last 20 to 40 minutes in extra bidding time.

How can I make a bid?
Click on the Bid Now icon next to the Lot you want to bid on. You will be re-directed to our Bidding Page. Here you can view the bidding history on the Lot and the next available bid. You are required to enter your Paddle Number and Password and then click on the Bid Now button. You will be prompted to confirm your bid. Once confirmed by you clicking on the yes button, your bid will be submitted. It is possible that someone else has already bid at the same amount seconds before your bid was submitted. In this rare event, you will be notified and you will have to go back to the Bidding Page and start the bidding process again.
What is an Autobid?
An autobid is like the live auction's absentee bid. It will allow you to bid on the same bidding foot increment to the amount you are prepared to bid up to. For example, if the current bidding on a Lot is $500 and you are prepared to bid up to $950, then you can input an autobid for $950. Our system will then accept your first bid at $550. If another bidder then bids $600, then our system will automatically submit a bid of $650 on your behalf. If there is no additional bidding, then you will be successful at the $650 hammer price.
How can I make an Autobid?
Click on the Bid Now icon next to the Lot you want to bid on. You will be redirected to the Bidding Page. Click on the Autobid icon. You will be redirected to the Autobidding Page. Autobid amount will be shown in the list. Select the amount you want to autobid for and click on the Autobid Now button. You will be prompted to confirm your autobid and after that your autobid will be submitted. Based on the current highest bid for the particular Lot, the system will create and submit the next bid on your behalf. (Please note: the auto bid feature takes into account that another bidder will be bidding against your bid and therefore only offers the option of every second bidding increment.)
How can I increase an Autobid?
You can increase your Autobid on Regisred Users page. Here you are able to increase the amount of any previously submitted autobids.

Why do I have to refresh my web browser during bidding?
This will ensure that you are viewing the latest bidding and time data. On the Bidding Hot List, I recommend that you select the 1 minute automatic refresh option at the top right of the page. This will automate the refresh process every minute. When new bids are submitted, they will appear in green. This is the best method to view which lots are creating the overtime extension during the final minutes of an auction.
How do I know when the auction is over?
